Lot #TN 5140 is a Catuai varietal, Anaerobic Natural process coffee produced by our long‑term partner, José Luttrell of Abu Coffee, also known as the Pirate of Panama. The farm is nestled in the beautiful highlands of Boquete, Chiriquí, Panama.

In the cup, you’ll experience beautiful tones that shift between red and purple, carried by a smooth, colloidal finish reminiscent of dark chocolate. The structure is confident and composed, lingering with a clean, elegant finish. It’s a cup that invites slow sipping and rewards every moment with layered complexity and quiet depth.

"ABU" (short for Abuelo, grandfather in Spanish) is what his grandchildren used to call him. His dream was to achieve the best cup of coffee with the highest standards of quality. Abu Coffee continues to live this dream by producing some of the most incredible and unique coffees available not only in Panama, but globally.
