Pirates Coffee delivers great-tasting coffee — no question about it. The flavor is solid, and it's clear the team behind it knows their beans. The staff are not only super friendly but genuinely knowledgeable, which makes every visit enjoyable.

That said, as someone who drinks a lot of coffee but doesn’t consider themselves a connoisseur, I found the price point hard to justify. At $20 for a 250g bag, it’s about four times the cost of other perfectly good brands on the market. If you’re someone who only has one cup a day or enjoys splurging on premium beans, Pirates might be a great fit. But if you go through coffee like water, there are plenty of solid options at your local grocery store or Costco for $25 per kilogram.

In short: excellent coffee and even better people — but unless you’re sipping slowly and spending sparingly, it may not be the most budget-friendly habit.
