OMA Gesha comes from the birthplace of the Gesha variety, Ethiopia.

While many people associate gesha (or geisha) coffee with Panama, the gesha variety actually originates from Ethiopia. So we're thrilled to finally offer gesha from it's true origin.

OMA Gesha was produced by Gesha Village in the Bench Maji zone of Ethiopia.

Tasting Notes: Nectarine, Raisin, Peach, Candied Ginger, Lemon Soda, Black Tea

Cup score:  92.75 ☕

OMA was produced by fermenting whole cherries in a fresh juice of compressed coffee beans containing skin and pulp enzymes. After fermentation is complete, the beans are dried under the sun on raised African beds for 42 days.

This extended special fermentation natural process gives OMA a complex, yet balanced cup profile. In the cup, you can expect exotic aromas of tea rose and jasmine combined with delicate stone fruit and citrus, capped off with a sweet lingering aftertaste.

The signature elements of Coffees from Gesha Village are intense floral and fruity flavours, and that is an accurate description of the OMA Gesha.

OMA is a part of the Rarities collection of Gesha Village which represents 10% of the total farm production. These are frequently chosen by internationally competing baristas, and OMA has proven to be a worthy competitor for international coffee competitions.

ABOUT GESHA VILLAGE

Gesha Village Coffee Estate is a 471 hectare Coffee farm in the Bench Maji zone of Ethiopia. Gesha Village started off in 2007 as a project to make a documentary on Ethiopian coffee. The idea to start coffee farming in Ethiopia quickly came into their conversations shortly afterwards.

After a long search they found an untouched piece of land with the perfect conditions to grow coffee near the Gori Gesha forest, which is a site of Panamian Geisha Discovery in the 1930's. They worked tirelessly to convert this piece of land to a fully operational farm and started cultivating wild Gesha plants from the Gori Gesha Forest.
